NSS Camp- Day 5


As a part of national service scheme unit number 301, NSS training College ottapalam,  a  7 days residential camp dwedi 2024 was organised  at the Sri Vivekananda training  College mayilampuram.
On 5th day of the camp that is on April 05 /04/ 2024, Friday, The day started with yoga class which was led by Dr Seema Menon (professor, NSS training College ottapalam). The yoga class lasted for about one and a half hour. At around 8 o'clock we had a brief stint of time to take breakfast.  At 9:00 a.m. Dr Sunil Kumar (NSS coordinator,NSS training College ottapalam) introduced 4 apps that have a wide range  use in our daily life. The apps were digilocker, KSEB, ente ration card, NextGen m parivahan. As a part of digital awareness survey NSS volunteers visited nearby residences to get on hand information about their digital knowledge with a mission to tell about the importance of the emerging digital world. After the survey we had lunch at around 1:00 p.m.   At 2:00 p.m. we had a health awareness class which was handled by Dhara mam and the session focused on mental health. The session was very useful  as it included mental disorders and the session also indicated the student teacher relationship and  how we can understand the mental state of students . Moreover, to give a light on how to consciously manage them when closely interact with them .
In the evening at 5:00 p.m. Sri  Suresh Kumar ( representative of office, NSSTC ottapalam) conducted a class on the topic using waste materials in education. The session was interesting as we could  make attractive things out of waste materials and it taught us  how we can better use them for education. 

Since Ramzan is being observed as a mark of observing fast breaking exercise, an Iftar party was conducted at 6:30 p.m.. which was attended by all including senior NSS volunteers of the college. The  party inculcated the spirit of religious coexistence. As usual cultural programs including various dance songs and other activities were exhibited with colourful and meaningful contributions of students. After the cultural program we went to bed with gratitude to God.
