World AIDS Day Observed at NSS Training College, Ottapalam

World AIDS Day was observed with great awareness and significance at NSS Training College, Ottapalam on 1st December 2025 . The programme was jointly organised by the Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit No. 301 with the aim of spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS and promoting compassion towards affected individuals. The programme began with an address by Dr. Lekshmi V (In-charge, Red Ribbon Club) , who highlighted the importance of World AIDS Day and the need to build awareness among youth. Following this, the Principal, Prof. Dr. Smitha R , delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the role of education in preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS and encouraging students to adopt safe and responsible lifestyles.   A special attraction of the programme was the Diya lighting ceremony , where lamps were arranged in the shape of the AIDS awareness ribbon . Constitution Day Observed at NSS Training College, Ottapalam: “Our Constitution – Our Pride”

NSS Training College, Ottapalam observed Constitution Day on 26 November with the inspiring theme “Our Constitution – Our Pride.” The programme was organized to create awareness among students about the values and principles enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The event began with the ceremonial reading of the Preamble by Prof. Dr. Smitha R (Principal in Charge) , reaffirming the institution’s collective commitment to the core constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity . Say No to Drugs: Anti-Drug Awareness Programme by NSS Unit No. 301

The NSS Unit No. 301 of NSS Training College, Ottapalam conducted an anti-drug awareness programme on 18 November 2025 with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The programme began with an inaugural address by Dr. Smitha R (Principal i/c) , who highlighted the serious physical, mental, and social dangers of drug addiction. Her inspiring words motivated students to make informed and responsible choices in their lives. As part of the campaign, a poster titled “Say No to Drugs” was displayed to create a strong visual message against drug abuse. Dedicated Service by NSS Volunteers in SIR Enumeration Process

Starting from 18 November 2025 , NSS volunteers of NSS Training College, Ottapalam actively participated in SIR-related activities at the Ottapalam Taluk Office and the Sub Collector’s Office . The programme was carried out under the guidance of Sub Collector, Palakkad, Shri Anjeet Singh IAS . The NSS volunteers were assigned the responsibility of assisting Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in the systematic collection of enumeration forms from different wards. They played a crucial role in verifying, organizing, and digitizing the collected data , and helped in uploading the information to the designated online platforms, including SIR 2002 . Volunteers worked from morning to evening for 2–3 consecutive days , efficiently handling tasks such as list preparation, data entry, data verification, and cross-checking of records . NSS volunteers of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, actively participated in the Kerala State School Science Fair , held from November 8 to 10 at Bharathamatha High School and BEMPS School, Palakkad . The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across the state, making it a vibrant platform for scientific creativity and innovation. The NSS volunteers were deployed in batches across all three days and were entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities. They played a key role in event coordination , guiding participants and visitors , managing registration desks , and assisting in the smooth conduct of various competitions . In addition, the volunteers helped in maintaining discipline, facilitating the flow of programmes, and providing essential logistical support to the organizing committee.
