NILAYANAM" - A CLEANING CAMPAIGN

The NSS Unit 301 and Blue Army Club of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, jointly organized "Nilayanam," a cleaning campaign aimed at maintaining the cleanliness of the premises near the Nila River under the Mayyanur Bridge. The event was a significant step towards environmental conservation and community service.

NSS programme officer Prof. Dr. Sunil Kumar A S addressed the gathering and welcomed the chief guest of the programme. The campaign was inaugurated by Mr. Ranjith T.K., Councillor and an esteemed alumnus of our college. Principal-in-charge, Prof. Dr. Smitha R, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of the Nila River in our ecosystem and cultural heritage.


Felicitations were given by Staff Advisor Dr. Sheeba Krishnan K and Head Accountant Sri Suresh Kumar K, who appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to actively participate in such initiatives. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Aswathy K.S., Coordinator of the Blue Army Club.

Students from the first-year B.Ed. program across all departments participated enthusiastically, dedicating their efforts to cleaning the area. Faculty members, including Dr. Anjana B. Nair and Mr. Subhash P.S., also joined the campaign, offering their support and guidance.


Following the cleaning drive, students were provided with refreshments as a token of appreciation for their hard work and commitment to the cause.

The "Nilayanam" campaign successfully instilled a sense of responsibility and environmental consciousness among the participants. 

The initiative reinforced the significance of keeping our natural resources clean and highlighted the collective effort needed to preserve the beauty of the Nila River.

On 16 th January 2024, a fund collection drive was conducted, raising contributions for palliative case initiatives. Food Fest

Nss unit of our College hosted a food fest and film festival on March 25, 2024. The food fest spanned from 9 am to 12:30 pm. The event commenced with an inauguration by the college principal, Dr. Ampili Aravind, followed by a welcome speech by Drishya. Dr. Lakshmi, the staff secretary, delivered a facilitation speech, and the formal program concluded with Athira delivering the vote of thanks . Following the formalities, the college enjoyed a bustling food fest featuring 12 unique stalls representing different classes, catering to the enthusiastic participation of students, faculty, and staff. In the afternoon, the NSS unit arranged a film festival in the seminar hall, featuring the screening of the recent Malayalam hit movie "Bramayugam." Kanal Fest

 NSS Training College, Ottapalam orchestrated a noteworthy event in commemoration of Women's Day. The collaborative efforts of the Women Development Cell, the Department of Women and Child Development, the NSS Unit, and IQAC culminated in the grandeur of the Kanal Fest held on February 15, 2024, within the hallowed halls of the institution. The solemnity of the occasion was inaugurated with a prayer led by the college students, setting a contemplative tone for the proceedings. Mr. Nithin CC, a distinguished Gender Specialist from Palakkad, extended a warm welcome, laying the foundation for an enlightening day.
